This post is dedicated to Adrian Read and his talent as a publicist.
I have been following Lady Gaga from the day I saw on you tube that ‘The Giorgio Armani’ has dressed up G for the 2010 Grammy awards and boy she was a sight. (http://operachic.typepad.com/opera_chic/2010/02/giorgio-armani-for-lady-gaga.html ) Futuristic fashion with a dreamy touch. Yellow hair and silver metallic gown. Unconventional, chic and elegant. She resembled moon which intrigued me even more.
I got hooked on and have been ever since.
They say G tries to copy Madonna. I say G is a phenomenon.
Look at the following chronological events that took place after the awards. Also please note that by this time, G was already huge with her ‘The Fame’ and not to mention again her edgy sense of style which is plain berserk and too unconventional for the human race. Every time she makes a public appearance people are shocked and impressed at the same time. Many express their dislike but the point is she is the news every single time she is spotted by the camera. Have a look:
1 1. Lady Gaga dresses as a man who she claims is her alter ego and gave an entire interview which was the cover story for Vogue, Japan, for the September 2010 issue.
2. Apparently our big star G had already had a comic strip published in 2009 and now she is making its sequel. FYI She was MTV Women of the year 2009 too. I know I should have started googling her much before Armani did.
3. My favourite band COLDPLAY ( Respect) along with G help ‘APPLE’ announce its new products. Dude you have to look.
(It was during this time I discovered this song by G called Alejandro and went mad. Ya I know I am my crazy best.. lots of wink)
4. V Magazine seems to be encashing its G investments with our star G posing as ‘Statue of Liberty’ in Louis Vuitton next to the legendary Marc Jacobs.
5. 2 months ago I found this link while I was googling my current obsession G. This act of hers raised controversies but not as much as what was to follow. You have to click on the link:

6. She dresses as a meat for MTV Music awards. Yes the meat was real meat. Look at it.
Her dress remains controversial and so her motive behind wearing something as outrageous as real meat. In an interview at ‘The Ellen Show’, she revealed it all.
7. Smell like an abattoir. Lady Gaga joins hands with Coty Beauty and is launching her range of fragrances hitting the stores next year.
8. Few days ago I was sitting with my laptop thinking about my career and opportunities. (You have to do things like that at times, its not entirely avoidable) I stumbled upon this site. I found my alternative career. I can be an efficient teacher for this course. I already sent my CV and yes no B Roy told me to do so. Have a look:
9. A dear friend argued endlessly during Market Research Lecture in favour of Replica watches. It was entertaining as it engaged the professor’s attention and we lived happily ever after for the rest of the class. It was one day and today is another. I just read online that G’s meat dress not the original but the replica was sold for $100K.

PS: For my Halloween party downstairs I tried to do a Lady G but with poor results as I discovered I had nothing in my wardrobe that made no sense except for my ‘RED BAG’ which I eventually did carry. Love Love!

Handling an artist is not easy. G has been known for her outrageous image and every time she finds a way to top that too. Its not her, its him.
And just as I am ending this post with nothing but respect for Adrian Read, the brilliant publicist who has handled Gaga before, i am hooked on to see what he does that ends up looking like she's gone one step further.

During his career with the recording company he “led press and online campaigns for artists including Ian Brown, Weezer, Morrissey, La Roux, White Lies and Duffy. In 2009, he was named Best In-House PR Person at the Record Of The Day Awards, and also picked up Best PR Campaign For A Breakthrough Non-UK act for his work with the aforementioned Gaga.” – CMU reports. Read has worked with Lady Gaga since her launch in the UK in 2008.

All my Respect and the 11th crazy thing I know G did few hours ago, she ate a Barbie doll at a gig for Halloween of course. No kidding. See it for yourself.
